Beth Hand, MBA, is passionate about helping leaders and their organizations improve performance. She understands that achievement and improvement means working with systems—companies, divisions, teams, and the vast array of external influences---solving problems and finding ways to remove barriers so that the best can emerge and your objectives achieved.
Ms. Hand’s background includes project management and support for large-scale information technology systems with nationwide and global impact for the public sector, and coaching executives and senior managers in Fortune 500s, mid-size companies and non-profits. She has coached and advised senior executives and initiated a strategic planning effort in a public sector information technology division that conducted $1.3 billion in transactions annually. She has managed nationwide IT contracts valued at $50 million dollars, provided project management on ones valued in the hundreds of million dollars, and received a top award--from the CIO--for her work on a strategic program management plan related to an acquisition valued at $15 billion.
One example of a successful engagement involved a highly collaborative effort to assist the Turkish General Directorate of Revenues senior leadership planning for a local area and wide area network as part of a country-wide financial restructuring. She developed a change management plan to ensure successful implementation of the new system, and received commendations for her contributions to the project.
She has earned more than 20 leadership, training and specialized certifications; is a certified coach and has a graduate certification from two International Coach Federation credentialed schools. She has served as adjunct professor in the George Washington University Organizational Science Graduate School Leadership Coaching Program where she designed and delivered three courses for change agents. She is featured in Hayden and Traditi's Get Hired Now!™ (Bay Tree Publishing, 2005) and is a contributing author to Belf's Coaching With Spirit: Allowing Success to Emerge (Jossey-Bass, 2002). Beth has trained in systems work for the past 7 years, and as a student lived in Paris, France and Salamanca, Spain. She has traveled in Europe, North Africa, South and East Asia, the Middle East, and Central America.
She helps clients achieve their objectives with intelligence, clarity and a refreshing energy.
Ms. Hand is committed to learning and to leading by example. Among her interests are corporations "doing well and doing good" in lesser developed countries. She engages in endurance sports, which let her test and grow her mental and physical abilities while enjoying the beauty and variety of nature. Both of these interests lend great depth, incisiveness and humility to her life and work.
